Tips by Lonely Planet: "Top 10 Budapest, Hungary"
What’s old is new again in the buzzy Danube-straddling Budapest. Want to try a new type of bar? Head to the ruin pubs (romkocsma -SZIMPLAKERT THE BEST MUSIC PUB OF EUROPE ACCORDING TO LONELY PLANAET IS A 10 MINUTES WALK FROM PRINCELY) and garden bars (kertek), trendy watering holes in old, atmospheric un-renovated buildings and wild plant-scapes. For novel digs from previous eras, stay in retro chic historic hotels like the former prime minister’s residence, Bródy House, or the one-time aristocrat’s palace Hotel Palazzo Zichy. Budapest has long been famed for its many thermal baths of the 16th century Turkish-era. The retro-hip trend continues in the food, with old-fashioned coffee shops and rustic étkezdék (mom-and-pop canteens serving simple Hungarian fare).

Location
Princely Residence is located in a most quiet street in the very throbbing heart of the city, less than 90 m away from the Farmers’ Market (Covered Market) with its colorful disposition of fresh fruit and vegetables. In this camera worth sight of wonderful early 20th c. construction you can always purchase healthy fresh food including vegetables, pickles, still oven hot bakeries, hand crafted sausages, and all what you may wish to taste and enjoy at bargain prices either for your breakfast or gourmet cooking. The Grand Circular Boulevard (Jozsef Korut) is a mere 100 m away.
Local transportation
TUBE/UNDERGROUND LINE 4 just inaugurated at Rákóczi Square! Within 100 m from Princely. Lines no.2. and 3. Respectively BLAHA LUJZA TER and FERENC Krt. are also within 500 m! YOU ARE ABSULUTELY PAMPERED BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT TOO AT PRINCELY.
2 min walk from TRAMS 4 and 6. They cross both the Buda and Pest sides of the city and operate all night. Night buses also run on the Grand Circular Boulevard. You could hardly wish for better transport in town.

Pros:
Good location, nice apartment, elegant and very clean, sympathetic owner.
Cons:
I would suggest adding a reading lamp for each of the two single beds. Luminosity for reading is deficient. Also suggest a real (adhesive) bathroom carpet (marble floor very slippery when wet). The entrance hall to the building, the elevator, etc. need cleaning and painting! -
We had a great time in Budapest and the apartment was perfect for our group. The location was great we could walk or take a tram to most of the big sights. Our hostess Ildy was amazing! She helped us out a lot with getting to and from the airport and even let us check in early without charge. Wonderful place at a great price with nothing to complain about what so ever!
Pros:
good location, size of apartment, amazing hostess, clean, great price.
Cons:
The beds could be a little more comfortable. -
at first, our booking was rather chaotic, even more when it seemed that the whole thing went over the USA. It was also a question of payment, as we do not like card payments. After some mails the situation became clearer then.
Pros:
a really nice appartment, spacious enough and with good mobilier. enormous contrast between the neglected outside and staircase of the building and the appartment itself.good location between railway station and center of town.
Cons:
the buildings outside and staircase being neglected (yet) -
We really enjoyed our stay here!
Pros:
Very lush! Spacious, well decorated.
Cons:
Floor gets wet when you shower. -
BIG apartment, very nice and classy, oldschool, has all the equipment you can think of. The staff is really nice and helpful. We were there in the middle of the winter and it felt very warm and cosy, despite it's size. Would recommend this to anyone traveling to budapest. Best value for the money
Pros:
Everything and more
